Following the official launching of the Penang Diocesan Lenten Campaign 2019 at the Parish of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Ipoh (OMPH) during the sunset mass and the Sunday morning masses on 09th and 10th March 2019 respectively, the Parish Human Development Committee (PHDC) of OMPH planned and organised three corporal works of mercy events for the Lenten season.

The first activity was an Organ and Blood Donation Day held on Sunday, 24th March 2019 from 8.00am to 1.00pm at the Parish Hall in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Unit of Hospital Raja Perempuan Bainun, Ipoh where 37 parishioners responded to organ donation and 50 parishioners were qualified to donate blood while 46 persons were unqualified and rejected owing to a variety of reasons such as insufficient rest and sleep the night before, under medication and low blood platelet count.
